About department

The Pharmaceutical control department is part of the General directorate of pharmacy, it consists of division of control on pharmacies in private sector, division of control on drugstores in private sector, division of reservation, and division of control on contraband drugs.  The department works  to apply the laws and decisions of the ministry of health and regulations related to pharmaceutical profession Practice, control on products and  drugs that available in pharmaceutical Institutions and cover all cities and villages via daily local visits by inspectors (field pharmacists) found in primary health care departments in addition to local visits which may be done by the inspection team of pharmaceutical control department according to requirement, to participate in the development of the necessary measures to prevent the presence of contraband drugs and expired and banned from use in pharmaceutical institutions, ensure safety delivering the medicine to patient, responsibility  for the central discarding committee and  annual inventory committees and reporting for that , participation in many committees such as: investigational committees and in pharmaceutical media committee, follow up monthly and annual reports of field pharmacists in health departments, follow up on complaints received by the Department .

Duties and responsibilities of department:

The Pharmaceutical Inspection Department (PID) for Palestine was adopted and launched in 1988 and the responsibility for this department as the following:

⌂ To apply the profession Practicing system and control on drugs that available in pharmaceutical Institutions in private sector and cover all cities and villages via daily local visits by inspectors (field pharmacists) found in primary health care departments in addition to local visits which done by the inspection team of pharmaceutical control department according to requirements.
⌂  To participate in the development of the necessary measures to prevent the presence of contraband drugs and expired and banned from use in pharmaceutical institutions.
⌂ To ensure the safety of delivering the medicine to patient.
⌂ To ensure that all pharmaceutical institutions apply the laws and decisions of the ministry and regulations related to pharmaceutical profession   ةةة             Practicing.
⌂  Responsibility for the central discarding committees and reporting for that.
⌂  Responsibility for the annual inventory committees and reporting for that.
⌂  Responsibility for the discarding committee in factories, companies ,drugstores and hospitals in private sector.
⌂  To participate in pharmaceutical investigational committees.
⌂ To participate in pharmaceutical media committee.
⌂ To follow up monthly and annual reports of field pharmacists in health departments.
⌂  follow up on complaints received by the Department.
⌂ Hold regular meetings for inspectors (field pharmacists) found in primary health care departments to discuss work-related matters.
⌂ Participation in the preparation of plans and projects related to the department.
⌂ Participation in conferences and meetings relating to the department in coordination with the direct charge.
⌂ Evaluating the performance of employees who supervise them directly.
⌂ Participate in determining the needs of the department of employees and the necessary equipment.
⌂ Preparation of required reports and submit them to the direct charge.
